LOAN SIGNING
I will meet with the borrower at a designated time and location. I will ensure that the borrower signs, initials and dates the loan documents in all appropriate places, then notarize the borrower’s signature where necessary.
Beyond just notarizing a document, a notary public often acts as a “signing agent,” and performs many non-notarial acts, such as printing and collating copies, ensuring that the title or escrow agent's instructions are carried out, helping borrowers locate specific pages within a loan signing package and collecting escrow deposits. Once this is completed, I will make sure that the signed and notarized loan documents are delivered to the closing agent or other designated office as soon as possible.
How does this benefit the borrower?
Meeting the borrower at their home, office or another convenient location for the signing, will eliminate the need for a time-consuming trip by the borrower to close the loan. This is convenient for both the closing agent and the borrower. I will also provide assurance that the signed and notarized documents will be delivered by the pertinent deadline. As a Notary and a Loan Signing Agent, I will display a high level of honesty and integrity in doing this job.
ACCEPTABLE IDENTIFICATION
All identification cards must be original, current or issued within the last 5 years. All identification documents must be issued by the state or federal government and contain a photograph, a physical description and the bearer’s signature. Identification procedures are mandated by the California Secretary of State. The following forms of identification are acceptable if they contain all required information as previously stated:
State-issued driver's license
State-issued identification card
U.S. passport issued by the U.S. Department of State
Foreign passport if stamped by the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS)
Driver's license officially issued in Mexico or Canada
U.S. military ID
State, county and local government IDs
Permanent resident card, or "green card," issued by USCIS
